Hey anyone taking part in the Occupy Movement where they live?

I'm thinking of going downtown here in Hong Kong to join in.

Is there any movement in china or would that lead to numerous "bullet-related" deaths?

I might be part of the 1% but I won't say no to a free show.

Bwahahahahahahahahahaha

Cool

just my opinion if it was here in canada i would say knock yourself out !!!

remember in china they executed about 1900 people last year !!!

i think also as foreingners we have a lot to lose if we get caught up into something and get arrested !!!

my daughter last year could have protested like a lot of her other university students did about japan !!!

i told my daughter not to bother not worth it and take a chance getting a criminal record and maybe not get a visa to come to canada !!!

again just my opinion plus you never know the government may just love to make an example of a foreingner in their country !!!Cry

No, I was talking about joining here in Hong Kong, not china.

I was simply curious if china had anything similar then I remembered which country I was talking about.

Anyways, as I've said before, I absolutely adore Hong Kong, it's such an amazing place with a great fusion of so many different cultures. One of the reasons that I love Hong Kong so much is because the laws are not only up to international standards in terms of competency and clarity, but they are also fairly and justly enforced (with some exceptions due "guangxi" or "hongbao" ie: not international standards).

So I feel completely safe joining in like I join in at Victoria Park on June 4th to commerate that big event in 89' that never happened.

Censors can suck it!

There was some small protest by a bunch of geriatrics in Zhengzhou, up past Wuhan a couple of weeks ago but it seems to have been disbanded… the ccp apparently now changed its mind and decided that it does not want its population to develop skills and knowledge about things like "protest" "revolution" "insurrection" "subversion" "freedom of speech" "equality" etc… I wonder how the turn-around was explained.. Wink I have just left China now, otherwise I would definitely be filming and participating :-)

On another note, is anyone in Changsha now? I heard last night there was some protest.. I am trying to get the details right now…

RE: Tiananmen Square Massacre (yeah, thats what it was/is/always will be!) 1989… I have heard rumours of the existence of some movie consisting of clips and pics from the event being passed around via USB stick on the underground in China… anyone know of it?

RE: Hong Kong.. Yeah E, it is so different.. completely different planet… almost sane…

Ummm emulating the Libyans perhaps?

Would that get you a bullet or just a "disappearance" (I love that term.. it is used in the Orwell's "1984" and also "Catch-22".. both can be read with china in mind. Anyone know where else it is used apart from china? What about North Korea, Saddam's Iraq… Gaddafi's Libya ???)

Anyone know if the news of Gaddafi's death or the downfall of his regime has reached China yet (if it ever does)? I mean the media that is seen by the people of China, not the xinhua news and other diatribe that is fed to the gullible of the west

sorry elijah i thought you ment china mainland !!hehehe

i here it is very different in HK compared to the mainland !!! i have never been there myself but it was in the hands of the british of course be for going back to china !!!

so i guess they kept a lot of the laws and ways of doing things like before !!!

i know a lot of chinese people left because they were nervous of what things were going to be like once it went back to china !!!

to me i relate it to living in canada but living in quebec !!! quebec has a lot of exceptions to the rest of canada !!! heheheLaugh
