Found this article a bit shocking (but very interesting) – Women who travel for -beep-: Sun, sea and gigolos

Especially the bit about Japanese women, since we tend to see this as a "western" influence thing :

In Bali, South-east Asia, Beddoes encountered wealthy Japanese women paying local boys for -beep-. The boys themselves claimed they found it less degrading because they saw the Japanese women as smaller and more childlike.

I wonder…

I used to live in Thailand and I was told by this Thai lady who was a Tourist Guide that a lot of this went on in Phuket…..I mean Japanese women going for -beep- with the local giggolos who were often fishermen.  She said they liked the dark skin.

I saw something similar on Koh Samet with these two Japanes women sitting down on a table not far from us.  They were quickly joined by …..I don't know what you would call them but I would say 'beach boys' who would work in the bars and put out deck chairs etc.  I know that for a fact they thought that a lot of these Japanese girls were easy pickings.  Of course, so were many western ones.  And in this case, I do believe they were correct.

It's been happening since it's been happening.

Not exactly the same thing, but one of my friends is from Hawaii. He speaks Japanese well. He was always telling me about how he and his friends couldn't wait until holidays. Apparently, they would hang out at airports and pick up some Japanese women doing their tour guide hustle, score free drinks, and sleep with them. He said a lot of people do it. This article doesn't suprised. Women who travel single usually want to score as bad as men who do it.
